Extracts From The Works Of John Preston, D.D: Preston (1587-1628) Works at PRDL. Brilliant Aristotelian with a strong doctrine of grace. It is very exciting that Wesley includes Preston, though Preston’s published works are a bit untidy to this day.

The Life of Dr. John Preston:

John Preston, The Breast Plate of Faith and Love: See it here. Wesley also prints this work’s “preface to the reader” by Richard Sibbes (spelled Sibs) and John Davenant, though for some reason Wesley does not include Davenant’s name here.

Preston: Stanley Rhodes, From Faith to Faith: John Wesley’s Covenant Theology and the Way of Salvation (2013) is on JSTOR and has some stuff about Wesley fixing Preston 60-61 (this is chapter 3, John Wesley’s Amendment of Covenant Theology
