A scene from the Leben der heiligen Altväter (1482)
Podcast-ioque with Gavin Ortlund
I love the doctrine of the Holy Spirit’s eternal procession, and furthermore I think the question of the Son’s involvement in that procession is important. But I also think it’s important not to fuss about it in the way it is often fussed about. I’m not trying to be evasive or mysterious about my view (and I have written about it in a book), but it takes a little while to lay out the whole thing. Gavin Ortlund gave me a chance to talk through this topic with him. Gavin’s YouTube teaching ministry is all kitted out right, so don’t miss the chapter breaks w/links.
